Veg Grilled Sandwich Recipe | Bombay Club Sandwich

Whenever I am looking for a very healthy and quick to make brunch very famous Bombay club sandwich always comes in mind first. Bombay club sandwich is basically a grilled or toast sandwich with fresh veggies. It is very famous street food in Bombay and easily available in every corner of the city. The combination of fresh veggies and specially made green chutney make it absolutely unique and filling. Bombay Club Sandwich Recipe

Preparation & Cooking Time : 15 minutes + 15 minutes

Yield : 2 sandwiches


Ingredients:

  • Bread Slice - 6 nos (I used wholemeal bread)
  • Green Chutney - 2 tbsp. + Serving
  • Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp. + Serving
  • Butter - 4 tbsp.
  • Tomato slices - 8-10 slices
  • Cucumber slices - 8-10 slices
  • Boiled Beet root Slices - 8-10 slices
  • Boiled Potato slices - 8-10 slices boiled
  • Onion - 1 no (chopped or sliced or julienned)
  • Chat masala - 2 tbsp
  • Cheddar Grated Cheese - 1/2 cup

Method:

  1. Apply butter on one side of a bread a spread a layer of green chutney.
  2. Arrange slices of cucumber on it. sprinkle chat masala on it.
  3. Arrange potato slices on it and sprinkle chat masala on it.
  4. Sprinkle finely chopped onions (or sliced) on it.
  5. Apply butter and green chutney on one side of another bread and cover it facing plain side on top and chutney applied side on vegetables.
  6. Apply again butter and tomato ketchup(or green chutney) on top of middle bread.
  7. arrange beetroot slices and sprinkle chat masala.
  8. Arrange tomato slices and sprinkle chat masala.
  9. add grated cheese on top of that.
  10. Apply again butter and tomato ketchup(or green chutney) on one side of another bread and cover it facing plain side on top and chutney applied side on vegetables.
  11. Press the sandwich gently and grill toast both sides on grill pan.
  12. Repeat the process to make another sandwich.
  13. Slice it in middle to make triangle and serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.

Note:

  • To make sandwich more spicy use green chutney in all layers and sprinkle pepper powder along with chat masala.
  • If making for kids you can avoid green chutney and use tomato ketchup.
  • You can add more veggies i.e. green capsicum and lettuce leaves.
  • Try to make green chutney in thicker consistency to avoid sogginess.
