Besan Tortilla Chips ~ Gram Flour Nacho Chips

  Healthy Baked Garlic Flavored Tortilla Chips Made with Gram flour, wheat flour and oat flour 
I find usual flour tortillas a bit unhealthy. So here I tried to make it healthy all healthy flour. It exactly tasted same as corn nacho chips. My family is a huge fan of nachos during movie time..
Now they are happy to get the same feeling at home while watching TV with homemade healthy nacho chips. Try this Ezrecipe to make crunchy homemade nacho chips and stock it up for 1 or 2 weeks.

Preparation & Cooking Time : 1 hour

YIELD :10-12 tortillas (80-90 chips)

Ingredients:

Besan (Gram flour) - 1 cup
Whole wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Oat  Flour - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Butter - 4 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp  
wheat flour for dusting 
Nachos Cheese Sauce to serve
 

Method:

  1. In a large mixing bowl add besan, wheat flour and oat meal.
  2. Add in salt, turmeric and chili powder. Add oil and mix it will.
  3. Combine them together and form a stiff smooth dough by adding required water.
  4. Cover it with damp cloth and give it a rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Knead the dough and take a lemon size ball.
  6. Dust the ball with wheat flour and roll it in a thin roti. Use flour for dusting as required to avoid sticking. 
  7. Heat the griddle and cook tortilla for few seconds until it gives little pinkish brown spots.
  8. Flip it over and cook agai n for few seconds. Repeat this and cook all remaining tortillas.
  9. In a microwave safe bowl add butter with ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute or until butter starts to melt and bubble. (sprinkle Mexican mix powder to enhance the flavor)
  10. spread half spoon of the ginger garlic flavored butter to each tortilla n cut them into 8 wedges.
  11. Arrange the slices in a single layer on the baking sheets. Do not overlap any pieces.
  12. Bake the chips in preheated oven at 350 degree F for 12 to 15 minutes or until they are golden brown and crisp. Turn all the chips around at the sixth or seventh minute to ensure even cooking. 
    • Healthy and crispy Gram flour Tortilla Chips are ready to serve.  Serve it with cheese sauce and salsa for snacking or make a hot delicious baked nachos as a part of a Mexican meal.
    • It can be stored in air tight container for 2 or more weeks.
