Schezwan Rice

Spicy and hot rice cooked in Chinese style with vegetables and schezwan sauce


Schezwan is a province of china and people from this area are fond of eating hot and spicy food. Hence all schezwan recipes are cooked with hot and spicy schezwan sauce. Its really easy and quick to cook and hotticious to eat...Here goes the recipe of Schezwan Rice. 
 YIELD – 2 servings

Ingredients:

Rice - 2 cups Cooked
Veg Oil - 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Schezwan sauce - 2 tbsp (adjust according to your taste)
Onion - 1cut in long stripes
Garlic - 1/2 tsp finely chopped
Mixed Vegetables - 1 cup (sliced in long stripes - I used carrot, capsicum and broccoli)
Bean Sprout  - 1/4 cup
Spring onion - 1 tbsp finely chopped for garnishing
Coriander for garnishing


Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan, add garlic and onion. Saute until they turn golden brown.
  2. Add all the vegetables and salt. mix well and cook on high flame for 2 minutes. vegetables should remain crunchy.
  3. Add schezwan sauce, mix well and cook again for a minute.
  4. Finally add rice along with bean sprout and toss nicely to mix well. 
  5. Dish out and sprinkle spring onion and coriander for garnishing.
  6. Serve hot with extra schezwan sauce and soya sauce. 

Note:

Whole process of cooking done in high flame to make veggies crunchy.
I used basmati rice but Chinese rice gives perfect flavor to this rice.
