Rajgara Flour Halwa ~ Fasting Recipe

Rajgara Flour Hawa is again a feasting (opps.... fasting) recipe. Its very easy to prepare and completes your fasting palate being a sweet recipe. Here I am presenting a recipe of Rajgara Flour Halwa. Give a feast to your family members during your fasting time...

Rajgara Flour Halwa

YIELD – 2 servings


Ghee - 2 tbsp
Rajgara Flour - 1 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Water - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder a pinch
Chopped Dry fruits for garnishing
Rajgara Flour Halwa


  1. Heat the ghee in a pan and add Rajgara flour into it.
  2. Cook over low flame and stir continuously. 
  3. Cook till flour turns into brown color. It will take around 8-10 minutes.
  4. When flour is cooked well it will start to leave ghee on top of it.
  5. Add 1 cup of water in to it. Add sugar as well.
  6. Let it simmer for another 8-10 minutes until all water absorbed properly. stir continuously.
  7. Finally add cardamom powder.
  8. Garnish with dry fruits and serve hot.

Thanq Prathiba Sreejith.. It is a flour made from the seeds of a plant called amaranth....

my mom used to make this when we were on fast
