Paanagam

Paanagam is made for all fasting festivals. Paanagam with its ingredients is known for its medicinal properties. This serves as a refreshing drink when one is in fasting. The cooling properties is very good for a fasting stomach. It also helps to get rid of the tiredness. This can also be served as a cooler for summer. Make this Paanagam as a neivedhiyam for the god on a fasting day and get the blessings of god.

Paanagam

YIELD – 2 SERVINGS

Ingredients:

Crushed Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Water - 2 cup
Dry ginger Powder - 1/2 tsp.
Cardamom - 1 crushed
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp.
Peppercorn - 5 or Pepper - 1/2 tsp.

Method:

  1. Add crushed jaggery to water. Stir until jaggery dissolves well.
  2. Filter it in a strainer to remove impurities from jaggery.
  3. Crush the cardamom and peppercorns.
  4. Add dry ginger powder, Cardamom, lemon juice and peppercorns to the jaggery water.
  5. Serve chilled or use as a neivedhiyam.
