Drumstick Curry

All of us always want to prepare healthy food for the family. Drumsticks have rich iron content. Making dishes with drumsticks will be loved by everyone. This drumstick curry is one of its kind. Make this simple drumstick curry by following these easy steps.

Drumstick Curry
 

YIELD – 4 Servings

Ingredients:

Drumsticks - 2 (Big)
Shallots - 6 
Coconut - 2 tbsp grated
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp.
Chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Salt - as per taste
Oil - 1 tbsp.
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp.
Urad dhall - 1/2 tsp.
Curry leaves - 1 spring 

Method:

  1. Chop the shallots.
  2. Cut the drumsticks to 2" pieces.
  3. Grind the coconut and cumin seeds to a fine paste.
  4. In a pan, heat oil.
  5. Season it with mustard seeds, urad dhall and curry leaves.
  6. Add shallots and saute until translucent.
  7. Add drumsticks and saute for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the ground masala and required water.
  9. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and saute for a minute.
  10. Close the cooker and cook until first whistle.
  11. Once pressure releases, open cooker and check for the drumstick consistency.
  12. If drumstick is not well cooked, cook it in slow flame until well cooked and curry sets.
  13. Serve hot with Rotis, Chappathis and Steamed rice.


Note:

  • This dish can be prepared both as a gravy or semi dry dish

very very tempting dish..whenever i use pre.cooker drumsticks will be overcooked so i do direct cooking..will try just 1 whistle..
