Garlic Rice

Garlic lovers Rejoice!!! Here's a recipe of simple fried rice bursting with the flavor and aroma of Garlic. Garlic is considered to be a herbal "Wonder Drug" as it has various health benefits treating everything from the common cold and flu to the Plague and management of blood pressure or cholesterol levels. Try this super easy and super healthy Garlic Rice Recipe.

YIELD – 4 servings

Ingredients:

Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Brown Rice - 1/2 cup
Salt as per taste
Butter - 1 tbsp
Garlic - 2 tbsp finely chopped
Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
Spring Onion - 1-2 springs finely chopped
Green Garlic - 2-3 springs finely chopped
Green chili - 1 finely chopped


Method:

  1. Mix white and brown rice, wash and steam cook. Add salt and few drops of oil while cooking rice. Once done keep aside.
  2. Heat the butter in a pan, add cumin seeds, garlic and chili. Saute for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add cooked rice with spring onion and green garlic  . Mix well and cook for few minutes.
  4. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes / curries or dhals.

Note: 

Add chicken broth and wine for more flavors.
