Whole Green Gram Dosa

Whole Green Gram Dosa is popularly known as Pesurattu in AndhraPradesh (southern part of india). Pesar means Green Gram and Attu means Dosa, the combination of pesarattu with rava umpa and ginger chutney is a signature breakfast  to Andhra Cuisine. Whole Green Gram Dosa

YIELD – 10-12 dosa

Ingredients:

Green Gram/Mung Beans-2 cups
Raw Rice - handful
Ginger- 1 tbsp chopped
Green Chilli-2-3
Onion-1medium
Salt to Taste

For Topping:
Green Chilli-1 finely chopped
Cumin Seeds-1 tbsp
Onion- 1 large finely chopped

Method:

  1. Wash and soak green gram, rice for about 3 hours.
  2. Grind the soaked gram, rice along with green chilli, onion, ginger and salt into coarse paste.
  3. Add sufficient water to make it like dosa batter.
  4. Heat oil in fry pan saute cumin, onion, green chilli and keep aside for topping.
  5. Heat a griddle/flat pan, pour a laddle of batter from center rotate to medium circular shape like dosa.
  6. Drizzle oil all over the surface, spread  a spoon of topping on entire dosa and cook for few minutes till it turns light golden brown on slow medium flame.
  7. Serve hot Dosa with Ginger Chutney and Rava Upma.

NOTE:

If you want to prepare for breakfast ,soak green gram and rice overnight, grind in the morning and can use immediately no need to ferment.
