Ghee Rice

When morning dawns always there will be a question in our mind as what to prepare for lunch box that day. This is a never ending question for us at home. This ghee rice can be prepared when you don't have any vegetables at home. Make this ghee rice easily and pack your lunch box with raitha of your choice.

Ghee Rice

YIELD – 3 SERVINGS

Ingredients:

Basmathi Rice - 1 cup
Ghee - 3 tbsp.
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp.
Cashews - 6
Cloves - 1
Garlic - 1 clove
Ginger - 1/2" piece
Onions - 2 small
Green chilli - 2
Water - 2 cup
Coriander leaves - to garnish
Lemon juice - 1 tsp.
Salt - as per taste

Method:

  1. Wash and soak basmathi rice for maximum half an hour. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Chop ginger, garlic, green chillies and onions finely.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan. Add Cumin seeds and saute. Once the aroma raises add cashews, cloves, ginger and garlic and saute well.
  4. Add onions and green chillies. Saute well until raw smell disappears.
  5. Add the drained rice and fry for sometime until it doesn't stick.
  6. Add water, salt and cook the rice. (Don't overcook the rice should be seen as seperate grains)
  7. Garnish with lemon juice and coriander leaves.
  8. Serve with raitha or Curries N Subjis of your choice.
