Onion Chutney

Onion chutney serves as best accompaniment with breakfast like idly,dosa,panayaram etc….This chutney is prepared using onion with red chilli,garlic and tamarind as main ingredient. This can be used for upto 3-4 days(refrigerate and use).
Onion Chutney
YIELD: 2 SERVINGS

Ingredients:
Onion -4 large roughly chopped
Garlic-4no
Red chilli 5-6no
Tamarind paste-1tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2tsp
Jaggery/sugar-1/4tsp
Salt-1tsp

Seasoning:
Oil-1tbsp
Mustard-1/2tsp
Split urad dhal-1/2tsp
Curry leaves-1spring
Asefetodia-1/4 tsp


Method:
Using spice blender/processor/mixie grind the above mentioned ingredients without adding water.
Microwave the ground chutney using microwave safe bowl on high for around 3minutes and season it.
Alternatively in a fry pan heat oil add seasoning and pour in the ground paste.
Saute it for around 5-8minutes until it leaves off the raw smell of onion and garlic
(Cook on slow medium flame).

NOTE:
Adjust red chilli according to your taste,if you donot like to add tamarind paste replace with tomato.
